Flite Test Spitfire Battle of Britain “Night and White” Under Surfaces
The first Flite Test warbird and a fan favorite, the FT Spitfire now has a great new look you can build and enjoy! Designed by DavidWindestål (our favorite Swed!) in 2017, the FT Spitfire is a joy to fly and known for it’s wonderful flight characteristics. Depicted is a livery that might be seen in the skies over England as World War II and the “Battle of Britain” were just gearing up. This Spitfire is dressed in the official standard undersurface scheme from 27th April 1939 until 6th June 1940. Equally divided “Night and White” under surfaces allow for excellent orientation during flight while maintaining a sense of historical accuracy. Basiclly the same skin as the Battle of Britain skin except with a half black half white. Although roundels were typically not seen on the under surfaces with this unique livery, some were painted on if combat over france was anticipated. These include the roundels. The real The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during, and after World War II. Many variants of the Spitfire were built, using several wing configurations, and it was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was also the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war. The Spitfire continues to be popular among enthusiasts; nearly 60 remain airworthy, and many more are static exhibits in aviation museums throughout the world.
